Induction to the Hall of Fame will recognise meritorious contribution to the science community over an extended period of time.
Inductees for the WA Science Hall of Fame, 2007 are:
- Scitech – for increasing interest and participation by Western Australians in science and technology over the past 20 years
- Professor Barry Marshall – for dedicated service to research, recognised in the awarding of the Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology for the discovery of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori as a cause of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease
- Dr Robin Warren – for dedicated service to research, recognised in the awarding of the Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology for the discovery of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori as a cause of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease
Inductees to the WA Science Hall of Fame will receive a plaque but no financial reward.
All Hall of Fame inductee individuals or organisations are ineligible to enter the Premier Science Awards in the future.
Hall of Fame honours will only be awarded on an ad hoc basis determined by the Chief Scientist of WA.
